Hedge trimming is one of those chores that's fun at the beginning of the season and then as the summer progresses turn into "Not again, I just trimmed a few weeks ago". The reason for the comment like this is simple, it's not the trimming, it's the clean up that is a pain in the you know where. At least that's my point of view. I hate the clean up.

I have a very beautiful rose bush that gives beautiful blooms all year long as long as I fertilize every couple of months. Now trimming is not so bad but it's impossible to clean up without getting stuck, pricked and poked by the rose thorns. When you're trimming the cut pieces fall into the bush and if you want to have a good looking rose bush you need to keep it free from dead clippings but, that is easier said than done.

When I was asked to do this review of the "Garden Groom" I jumped at the chance because if it did what they said it would do my life would be a lot simpler and safer.

Garden Groom

Pros

The Garden Groom is designed in such a way that it is almost impossible to cut your cord. I don't know how many times I've cut my trimmer cord because I was watching the bush being trimmed instead of where the cord was.

It is extremely light weight and since I'm fast approaching the "Golden Years" this gets to be more and more important.

It's simple to use. It just glides across your shrubs sucking up the clipping as it goes. This means that there is no more trying to pick up those rose bush clipping, getting stuck with the thorns and bleeding all over showing off my battle wounds on my arms for the next week or so.

No gas to mix and pour into the machine. The Garden Groom has an powerful electric motor, designed to last and virtually maintenance free.

Cons

If you have a number of shrubs the collector will need to be emptied often. This is not a big thing since it's simple to do but you will need to do it.

The bonus collector bag is "clunkie" and fairly awkward to use and move around with. It collects the cutting but you need to drag it around.

Conclusion

I gave The Garden Groom a rating of four out of five. I would buy the product for no other reason than it cleans up after itself, especially those rose clippings. That's what I look for in any kind of appliance, one that cleans up after themselves. Life is to short to be stabbed and pricked by rose bushes or any kind of bush for that matter. I want appliances that are easy to use, lightweight and easy to clean and clean up after.
The garden Groom fits those criteria to a glove so I would recommend the product. You can get more information or purchase the Garden Groom by clicking the link or the  Buy Now button below.
